  • During the treatment you can expect mild to moderate discomfort or pain. Many patients describe a burning sensation especially with an aggressive treatment.

    Redness and/or swelling of the skin lasting up to several days or even a week or longer.

  • The peel usually lasts for about two to three weeks, during which time the skin will peel and heal. After the peel, the skin will be more smooth and evenly toned.

  • The ideal candidate is looking to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, or other signs of aging. This treatment is also great with treating acne scars.

    You should have healthy skin with no active infections. Candidates for this procedure should also avoid tanning, including sun exposure and tanning beds, for at least two weeks prior to the procedure.

    • Sun sensitivity on the treated area. Avoid the sun and use sun block with at least a 30 SPF for a period of 3 months to decrease the risk of skin pigment changes.

    • Itching may occur in the early healing stages, do not pick, scratch, or rub.

    • The skin will show a brown Pixel pattern and will feel grainy with minor flaking for several days. If "stacking" is done, healing can take up to several weeks.

    • Acne flare up especially if "stacking" is done and/or patient has a history of acne.

    • Melasma is typically hormonally related. It may get better or worse following the treatment.
